The new Law on Inspections that was pending for more than 10 years, brought reform in inspections by defining the principles of inspection with proper coordination with the inspection bodies under the competence of the state administration and municipalities, the rules for the coordination of inspection activities and the procedure of inspection of inspection activities in all areas of administration.
- After more than a decade, we regulated and increased the supervision of the petroleum products market.
- We adopted the law on trade in petroleum products and renewable fuels, which defines the conditions for quality and safe supply and competitive trade with petroleum products and renewable fuels.
- We increased the quality of petroleum for state security, public health and the environment.
- We increased controls of operators involved in the processing of petroleum products and closed 4 petroleum processing depots where legal violations in petroleum processing were found.
- For the first time, the law on trade in petroleum products and renewable fuels foresees the confiscation of low-quality petroleum, concerning which MIET has provided petroleum tanks to store the confiscated petroleum.
- We received 1833 samples of petroleum products and 739 samples of motor oils. We seized 1744 liters of motor oil and 4574 kg of antifreeze . We returned to the country of origin 122,790 l of motor oils, while we initiated 390 requests for offence proceedings. We made 215 decisions on fines, initiated 3 criminal reports and suspended two licenses for the import/wholesale of motor oils.
- For the first time, parameters for motor oils were defined and intensive control at customs points and the domestic market began. Within a very short time, more than 100,000 thousand liters of motor oils, which did not meet the parameters allowed according to legal acts, were returned to the country of origin.
- We removed from the market more than 12,000 industrial non-food products, which were found to be unsafe for consumers.
- For the first time, safety supervision of construction products began. During the years 2021 and 2023, over 100 tons of rebar were removed from the market as it was found to be substandard and therefore unsafe for construction.
- For the first time, all types of cement began to be tested, and those types of cement that did not meet the standards were banned from the market. The economic operators who produced low-quality concrete were punished and were obliged to improve the quality in the parameters prescribed by the standard.
In addition, for the first time, the quality of gravel used in high construction began to be tested.
- Through the law on precious metal works, we intensified controls and verifications, verifying in a very short time over 1000 kg of precious metal works.
- We signed the Administrative Instruction on the technical requirements for import, storage, wholesale and retail sale of r petroleum fuels and cleaning of tanks. This administrative instruction defines the technical-technological criteria for entities engaged in the import, storage, wholesale or retail sale of petroleum and renewable fuels and import of raw materials for the manufacturing and processing of petroleum products as well as cleaning of tanks.
- For the first time in the Republic of Kosovo, the Central Market Inspectorate has added competence based on the Law on Tourism, which defines the obligation of inspection supervision through direct inspection of tourist services and accommodation.
- The Central Market Inspectorate has been vested with increased supervision competencies through 22 additional sublegal acts, 11 of which were approved in 2022 alone.
