The forum brought together representatives of public institutions, financial sector and businesses to address challenges and opportunities related to economic growth and access to finance. The event was also attended by the Minister of Economy and Labour of North Macedonia, Besar Durmishi.
During the discussions, the Minister emphasized that access to finance remains one of the main prerequisites for industrial development and sustainable economic growth. She underlined that work is being done on the development and functionalization of 12 industrial zones, which are expected to serve as a basis for attracting investments and increasing production capacities in the country.
According to Minister Kusari-Lila, through financial support for businesses, risk-sharing mechanisms and private capital mobilization, the aim is to create more opportunities for local enterprises and encourage investments in sectors with export potential.
Within this Forum, the Minister also participated in a panel discussion with institutional, regional and private sector representatives, where the mobilization of financing for the industrialization of the economy was addressed. This panel discussed increasing investments in industry, strengthening regional cooperation and promoting innovation, emphasizing that industrial transformation requires close coordination between public policies and private capital.
Also, this forum discussed the importance of building modern industrial infrastructure, including economic zones, industrial parks and supporting logistics, as well as the role of innovative financial instruments, public-private partnerships and international financial institutions in increasing access to capital and reducing risk for investors.
Minister Kusari-Lila emphasized, inter alia, that only through investments in infrastructure, human capital and technology can industrialization be accelerated and the competitiveness of the economy be increased, adding that Kosovo aims to move from an economy based on consumption towards a productive and exporting economy, integrated into European value chains.
