Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, participated in the meeting of the National Council for Economic Development of Kosovo (NCEDK).
In the first meeting newly composed by, attended ministers, representatives of the European Union, the leading business associations and other members NCEDK, whereby the National Development Strategy, Government Programme 2015-2018 challenges and their address and other topics important for economic development of Kosovo have been reviewed.
Prime Minister Mustafa stated that the Government has established the National Council for Economic Development. This is a very important forum for us, where Government and business representatives together can explore and address the current and future challenges of development of our country.
With this, we aim to strengthen the dialogue with the private sector, in terms of design and implementation of development policies of the country.
In the Government Program we have clearly emphasized that economic development, promotion of employment and welfare increase will be based mainly on private initiative, competition and open market, as the main power to ensure economic prosperity.
In this regard, the role of Government will be to provide an institutional framework, in order to ensure the internal cohesion of the economy and society. We think that these are solid foundations that a government can build in order to develop the reforms important for country.
We are convinced that the dialogue with the private sector creates the good basis for favourable market policies, which policies enhances economic reforms and increases competitiveness in the market.
In this context, we wish that through the activation of the Council to work together to improve the investment climate, to remove obstacles towards development, or to formulate specific policies for different economic sectors.
