The Ministry of Economy, Employment, Trade, Industry, Entrepreneurship and Strategic Investments (MEETIESI) is taking all necessary steps to ensure the regular supply of grain and flour to the market.
In support of the Republic of Kosovo and the countries of the region, the Council for Regional Cooperation, supported by the European Union, has taken the initiative to open green corridors aiming at the free movement of essential goods.
In today's regional meeting through a video conference with Ministry officials, the Regional Cooperation Council has pledged to create green corridors that enable the free movement of essential goods – including wheat and flour.
In the meeting were discussed the proposals by the Permanent Secretariat of the Transport Community and the CEFTA Secretariat to establish green corridors within the territory of the Western Balkans (see corridors on map).
MEETIESI is continuing its close cooperation and communication with relevant actors in the local and regional market and with state mechanisms to provide bread for citizens during the pandemic period.
MEETIESI recalls that mass purchases driven by panic are unnecessary. The institutions of the Republic of Kosovo have the financial means and proper resources to ensure the supply of essential goods. The situation calls for caution and carefulness, without panic.
