Following the official visit of Kosovo delegation in Athens, led by Minister Rozeta Hajdari, yesterday was held the Business Forum between Greece and Kosovo.
The joint event with the participation of Kosovar and Greek businesses, organized by the Kosovo Investment and Enterprise Support Agency (KIESA) and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Athens, began with the welcoming speeches delivered by the Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Rozeta Hajdari and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic Diplomacy and Openness, Kostas Fragogiannis and continued with the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding by KIESA within the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade with Enterprice Greece within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece.
Minister Hajdari said that the Business Forum represents an important step in strengthening economic relations between Greece and Kosovo and mentioned the most recent official visits at the political level between the two countries.
"Greece is an important economic partner for Kosovo, and today we are in Athens, one of the eldest cities in the world, together with our entrepreneurs aiming to strengthen economic cooperation in the sectors of wood industry, textile, construction, graphic design, renewable energy, metal, plastic products and agro-products. Our presence today in Athens is to convey the commitment of the government of Kosovo together with our entrepreneurs, so that this cooperation is successful and with mutual benefits," said Minister Hajdari.
Minister Hajdari emphasized the commitments and engagements of Kosovo Government, always being oriented towards the EU with the successful implementation of the European Reform Agenda (ERA) and I assure you that it will always be looking towards the West. She highlighted the main and growing industrial sectors, which have complementary potential in the regional supply chain, and announced the Government's actions that contribute to improving the environment for doing business and encouraging investments in the Republic of Kosovo.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister Fragogiannis emphasized Greece's commitment to deepening relations with the Republic of Kosovo and the importance of mutual cooperation between the two countries for economic and regional development. He emphasized the doubling of trade exchanges between Greece and Kosovo in the last 5 years and expressed readiness to achieve concrete results in projects of common interest to both countries.
The forum was concluded with the networking meetings of Kosovar – Greek businesses, which exchanged experiences and are potential for creating partnerships and increasing economic cooperation between Kosovo and Greece.
