The Industrial Development and Business Support Strategy 2030, which was drafted by the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade for the first time, today received the approval at the meeting of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo.
This Strategy, drafted with the EQuIP (Enhancing the Quality of Industrial Policies) Methodology, provides a strategic policy framework for promoting industrial development.
Drafting of this strategic document shows the importance given by the Kosovo Government to the production sector in achieving a structural transformation of the economy of our country, with the vision that by 2030, the Kosovo industry will be transformed into a more globally-integrated industry that is able to produce high added value products and provide decent employment.
Representatives of the ministries and various specialized government entities, the business community, external experts and international partners were consulted throughout drafting of the Strategy.
In addition, the active involvement of the business community and institutional representatives at the municipal level has validated and better contextualized the identified policy actions.
The Strategy is closely aligned with the National Development Strategy 2030.
This Strategy is focused on five objectives:
Expansion of industrial production; Reduction of industrial trade deficit; Generation of better and more inclusive employment; Facilitating Green Industry, and Maximizing Internal Growth Rate.
The Industrial Policy effectiveness will require concerted actions, sustained commitment and close cooperation between the Kosovo Government, the private sector and the Kosovo international development partners.
Based on the instructions deriving from this important strategic document, the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade will continue the work and coordination with the partners.
