The Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Rozeta Hajdari, along with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, laid the foundation stone for Industrial Park 2 – General Park in Drenas today. This marks an important step towards supporting the manufacturing and processing industry, with a specific focus on innovation.
This modern park, with an investment of 7.7 million euros and an area of 36.5 hectares owned by the Government, was initiated by the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade (MIET) through the KIESA agency. It was established on June 13, 2024, by Government decision. It is expected to accommodate around 50 manufacturing and processing enterprises, which will contribute to the development of the circular economy and green technologies.
The Ministry has implemented a number of significant capital projects in 2024. In the first half of the year, projects with a total value of 10.3 million euros were tendered for the:
• Industrial Park in Lipjan
• Industrial Park in Rahovec
• Business Park in Mitrovica
• General Park in Podujeva
• Renovation of the Technological Park in Shtime.
Currently, the Ministry is in the process of obtaining approvals for new industrial parks in other municipalities, as well as announcing procurement procedures for the capital project Business Incubator in Peja.
The Ministry aims to create entrepreneurial ecosystems that focus on manufacturing and innovation by building modern infrastructure in these industrial and technological parks. These projects will help establish a more sustainable and inclusive economy, paving the way for increased collaboration and development.
The Industrial Park 2 in Drenas is a potential hub for collaboration and innovation, which will contribute to a better future for citizens and the economic development of Kosovo.
