Industrial Park in Budrike, Vitia, is inaugurated

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Albin Kurti, together with the Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Mrs. Rozeta Hajdari, MPs Mirlinda Tishukaj Sadiku and Njazi Isaku, Deputy Ministers Mentor Arifaj and Imri Demelezi, the Mayor of Vitia, Mr. Sokol Haliti and other representatives inaugurated today the Industrial Park in Budrika of Vitia.

Prime Minister Kurti said that the newly built Industrial Park in the area of 15.50 ha of the municipality of Vitia, with capital investments worth 1.7 million euros from the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade (MIET), will make an important contribution to economic growth and regional development.

“This industrial park will support responsible and sustainable investments of our businesses, from the diaspora and abroad; will promote the production and processing activity with advanced technology, with encourage innovation and the provision of added-value products and services; employment and training for our youth; increased cooperation between businesses and their promotion, thus developing the innovative ecosystem and increasing competitiveness, for more exports and a reduced trade deficit" said Prime Minister Kurti.

Further, Minister Rozeta Hajdari said that this park is expected to be populated with 30 businesses and soon to be transformed into an attractive area for investments and with environmentally friendly characteristics, according to the new reform for economic zones, through the Industrial Policy 2030 and the new Law on Industrial and Technological Parks (already in force, since November 30, 2023).

She added that with a budget of EUR 33 million for capital investments for the next 3 years, work is being done on the construction and operationalization of the existing certified areas in 8 municipalities, as well as the identification of new areas in other municipalities, with the aim of all, with proper construction and management according to the relevant new law, to be transformed into effective industrial parks and effective technological parks, with infrastructure, further business development services and general facilities for businesses and workers.
