The Kosovo Industrial Property Rights Agency (IPA), with support of European Commission Office- through TAIEX project has organized a seminar in area of Geographical Indicators.
The main focus of this seminar is legal area, namely implementation of legislation during the applications reviewing process of the geographical indications registration.
The General Director of Industrial Property Rights Agency, Xhafer Tahiri, at the opening of this seminar stated that the Geographical Indicators are a very important tool that supports traditional producers and which extremely helps the economic development of regions that are specific in production of particular product.
The seminar was attended by representatives of institutions connected to this specific area as the Ministry of Agriculture, the Market Inspectorate and Food and Veterinary Agency.
IPA and MTI is committed to support local producers by enabling them to register their specific products through geographical indications.
