The Substitute of the Secretary General, Gentiana Islamaj, held a virtual meeting with senior representatives of the World Bank, where the progress of the “Competitiveness and Export Readiness Project” has been discussed.
During the meeting, it has been emphasised the importance of this project for supporting Kosovar businesses, and that a value of over 10 million dollars will be distributed to businesses in the form of grants within two years. This support will help local businesses recover from the damage caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ms. Islamaj informed the representatives of the World Bank about the activities and initiatives undertaken by the Ministry of Trade and Industry for helping the private sector, with a special focus on legislative changes and the distribution of grants to various businesses and to businesses owned by women.
The representatives of the World Bank highlighted the excellent cooperation they have with the Ministry of Trade and Industry and offered their support in the implementation of this project, which will help local businesses to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.
