Minister of Trade and Industry, Endrit Shala, during the meeting with Andrew Mitchell, UK Trade Commissioner for Europe, stressed that the United Kingdom has immensely contributed in building Kosovo.
Shala expressed gratitude to the United Kingdom, for their contribution in freedom and independence of the Republic of Kosovo, adding that the excellent political relationship between the two countries should also be transformed in economic terms.
Minister Shala and Commissioner Mitchell agreed to sign a free trade agreement, before long, between Kosovo and the United Kingdom.
Shala also explained Kosovo's potential for foreign investment, starting from renewable energy, mining investment, agriculture and tourism.
Also, Minister Shala and Commissioner Mitchell agreed to initiate the agreement on protection and promotion of United Kingdom investments in Kosovo.
Commissioner Mitchell praised the relationship between Kosovo and the United Kingdom, pointing out that Britain has an interest in boosting trade exchanges and also boosting its presence with investors. Together with Commissioner Mitchell, Ruairi O'connell the United Kingdom`s ambassador in Kosovo, was also present.
