The Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Ms. Rozeta Hajdari, and the Director-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship, and Small and Medium Enterprises (DG GROW), Ms. Kerstin Jorna, signed the agreement for inclusion of the Republic of Kosovo in the European Union’s “Common Market” Programme at the premises of the European Commission in Brussels.
Participation in the European Union’s “Common Market” Programme for Kosovo is a very important step towards the integration process of Kosovo in the European Union. The programme in question is one of the largest support programmes of the European Union and, as such, aims to strengthen the supervision of the internal market, improve the competitiveness of the industry, in particular of micro, small, and medium enterprises, and improve consumer protection, including food security, statistics, as well as the financial sector.
This means that Kosovo businesses and organisations can interact with the businesses and organisations of the member states of the European Union and non-member states, which are partial or full participants in this programme.
The “Common Market” Programme will support the abovementioned sectors with a budget of 4.2 billion euros for the period 2021–2027, and from now on local businesses and organisations can benefit from this programme.
The Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship, and Trade will notify local businesses and organisations in a timely manner regarding the way how to apply for and benefit from this programme in order to take full advantage of this very significant opportunity for the overall development and economic transformation of our country.
