As part of the 15th Conference on the Economy 2026, held in Montenegro, the Memorandum of Understanding between the Western Balkan countries and Industrial Park partners from the European Union was signed today.
On behalf of Kosovo, the agreement was signed by the Acting Director of KIESA, Zana Kotorri, while the beneficiary of this agreement is the Industrial Park in Suharekë.
The agreement aims to establish a common framework for cooperation between Industrial Parks in the Western Balkans and those in the European Union, creating new opportunities for business development and their integration into European markets, with the aim of strengthening links and cooperation among businesses; integrating enterprises into European supply and value chains; creating opportunities for new investments and partnerships; exchanging experiences and best practices for the development of Industrial and Eco-Industrial Parks; strengthening the management and governance capacities of industrial parks; and developing the skills and competencies of the workforce, in line with the requirements of the industrial, green and digital transition.
For Kosovo, this agreement represents an important opportunity for the internationalization of the Industrial Park in Suharekë, increasing cooperation with industrial parks in the European Union and creating new opportunities for local enterprises to integrate into European supply and value chains.
The agreement also contributes to advancing Kosovo’s approach to developing more competitive, green Industrial Parks that are integrated into the European economy.
