Kosovo supports US Demarche for human rights violations in China

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of the Republic of Kosovo supports the Demarche addressed to the People’s Republic of China for the repressive campaign against Uyghurs, Kazakhs, Kyrgyz and other Muslim minority groups.

Respective law enforcement and sanctions authorities in the United States of America warn individuals and business entities about the potential consequences (penalties up to cessation of business in the US) in the event of engaging in business activities with entities that are involved in human rights violations.

The United States of America have issued a business advisory to caution businesses about the risk of supply chain links to entities that engage in human rights violations, including forced labor in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region and several other regions in China.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of the Republic of Kosovo, emphasizes that it supports the US Demarche in order to condemn abusive human rights practices in China.
Also, the Ministry of Trade and Industry of the Republic of Kosovo, informs Kosovar businesses, that they should cease business activities if they have with companies from this region of China with abusive practices and human rights abuses in China.

Businesses with potential exposure to their supply chain related to human rights violations in Xinjang or in the facilities outside Xinjiang implicated in forced labour coming from Xinjang in the manufacture of goods intended for domestic consumption and international distribution should be aware of the reputational, economic and legal risk of involvement in business relationships with such entities.  ​
