On the verge of the end-year holidays, the Central Market Surveillance Inspectorate, under the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, has intensified inspections of economic operators.
The teams of the inspectorate are spread in many cities of Kosovo, where every day, they are carrying out continuous inspections with the aim of preventing possible abuses with product prices.
Besides that, the inspectors, according to their legal responsibilities, are carrying out inspections in the field of consumer protection, safety of products and services, trading of oil and oil derivatives, prevention of unfair commercial practices, combating the informal economy, hotel and touristic services.
All this undertaking in the field is with the purpose of implementing and guaranteeing legality in the trading of goods in the Kosovo market aiming to protect consumers and the public interest.
According to the legal provisions into force, the Market Inspectorate shall impose mandatory fines on the economic entities which during the inspections are found with irregularities and shall initiate legal proceedings against them.
The Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, through market surveillance and combating wrongdoings in the market, remains maximally committed to guarantee legality and consumer protection.
We invite citizens to be alert while shopping, and for any violation of consumer rights to continue to address complaints/information to the Market Inspectorate, through the Department for Consumer Protection in the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade.
