MIET through the Market Inspectorate has continued inspections also during the weekend. The purpose of inspections during this period continues to be the verification of prices of the consumer`s basket basic products.
During the inspections on Saturday, the Market Inspectors have encountered irregularities regarding the discrepancy between the shelf-cash prices, the fraud related to the advertised discounts and in some products the declaration in Albanian language has been missing, therefore in each case punitive measures have been taken in accordance with applicable laws.
MIET thanks all customers who continue to address their complaints to the Department of Consumer Protection.
At the same time, it assures consumers that Market Inspectorate will be active in the interest of consumer protection, elimination of unfair trade practices and protection of fair competition. Thus, in cooperation with market inspectors in municipalities, will continue inspections throughout Kosovo and in any case when irregularities are found, punitive measures will be taken in accordance with applicable laws.
