MEETIESI: Clarification for Business on Government`s Measures Related to Coronavirus Situation

The Market Inspectorate, which operates within the Ministry of Economy, Employment, Trade, Industry, Entrepreneurship and Strategic Investments of the Republic of Kosovo, has issued the following guidelines for the implementation of Government`s decisions regarding the coronavirus situation:

[1] On-premises measures: take hygienic measures, disinfect, provide employees with personal protective equipment (as directed by the Ministry of Health), in each moment, to make sure that within the premise the maximum number of people allowed is at least that number that can keep at least one meter distance from each other (to be explained in words!)

[2] Closure of cafeterias, bars, pubs, restaurants, shopping centers (except pharmacies and grocery stores within them), and livestock and vehicle markets, other economic operators can work. ALWAYS MAKING SURE THAT TERMS OF POINT 1 ARE MET!

Also, specific companies (utilities, financial services, and electronic communications) can provide services to an indispensable extent, but with reduced time and staff. In advance, they need to make sure that some of their operations are passed on to electronic channels. ALWAYS MAKING SURE THAT TERMS OF POINT 1 ARE MET!

[3] Mixed offer economic operators: sales and service, SHOULD only sell, whereas the service should stop. For example: bakery (sells and serves the bakeries inside the shop); burek shop (sells and serves); kebab shop, pastry/confectionery, dish meals shop, and other food shops; gas station points (sell fuel, lubricants, accessories, but also have cafes and restaurants); car-washing, and similar operators, which both sell products but also serve ALWAYS MAKING SURE THAT TERMS OF POINT 1 ARE MET!

[4] Manufacturers may not stop production, but it is mandatory to take measures of organizing the work such as: – working in shifts to reduce the number of people staying in production; – and to ensure a minimum distance of 1 meter at all times.

The presence of other persons in business premises other than sellers and buyers is prohibited. The responsible persons of the economic operator are obliged that within the business facility ensure that the distance between the persons present is at least 1 meter. The rest of the people should wait in line outside.
