At today’s media conference, the Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Mrs. Rozeta Hajdari, together with the Director General of the Kosovo Investment and Enterprise Support Agency (KIESA), Mr. Zef Dedaj, launched the preliminary list of 167 beneficiary companies under the grant scheme for machinery purchase for micro, small and medium companies.
The Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, through the Kosovo Investment and Enterprise Support Agency (KIESA) launched on 27 March 2024 the grant scheme for machinery purchase for micro, small and medium size companies with manufacturing and processing activities in priority industrial sectors.
The Industrial Policy 2030 aims at the structural transformation of the local industry, into a more globally integrated industry that is able to produce products with high added value and provide decent employment for our youth.
Initially, the call was launched in the amount of EUR 1,700,000.00, where a total of 560 applications were received through the e-Kosova platform from local manufacturing and processing businesses which, according to the established criteria of this scheme, did not benefit from the support schemes for the purchase of machinery offered by KIESA during the last 3 years.
Today's report of the Evaluation Commission results in 167 companies benefiting from this grant scheme, which meet the legal and administrative criteria and meet the objectives of the Industrial Policy 2030.
In order to benefit all 167 manufacturing/processing companies which have been qualified under this public call, with a direct positive impact on the gross domestic product, the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, with a request for transfer to the Ministry of Finance, Labor and Transfers, has increased the amount of EUR 1,700,000.00 initially set for the grants, thus benefitting 60 micro, small and medium companies with a fund of EUR 4,400,000.
After receiving the report from the Evaluation Commission of this grant scheme for the purchase of machinery, the KIESA has published today the preliminary list of 167 beneficiary micro, small and medium companies, with manufacturing and processing activities in the growing priority industrial sectors.
Beneficiary companies are from the following sectors:
Processing of food products
Manufacturing /processing of beverages
Manufacturing/processing of textile, clothing and leather
Manufacturing/processing of wood and furniture
Manufacturing/processing of rubber and plastic products
Manufacturing /processing of non-metallic mineral products
Manufacturing/processing of metals and manufacturing of fabricated metal products.
The breakdown of beneficiary companies is as follows:
• Lot 1 micro companies, with up to 9 employees and a profit value of EUR 20,000 – 75 companies have benefited, with a total value of EUR 1,363,198.
• Lot 2 small companies, with 10 to 49 employees and a profit value of EUR 35,000 – 76 companies have benefited, with a total value of EUR 2,420,259.
• Lot 3 medium companies, with 50 to 249 employees and a profit value of EUR 50,000 – 16 companies have benefited, with a total value of EUR 661,014.
The Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade supports fair, adaptable and competitive business with increased exports and improvement of the trade balance.
