The Market Inspectorate of the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade (MIET), together with the Metrology Agency, these days have carried out inspections of weighing instruments, and have checked the documentation of these operators in the city of Gjilan
During the inspection, irregularities were encountered in three weighing instruments that did not comply with the Regulation on Non-Automatic Weighing Instruments (they do not have type approval).
These weighing instruments have been removed from use and it has been requested from economic entities for a certain period of time given by the metrological supervision inspectors, to replace them with weighing instruments in accordance with the Regulation on Non-Automatic Weighing Instruments.
Bread measurements were also performed in the in the bakeries to verify their weight based on the statement they submitted. A bakery has been fined, based on legal norms, for non-compliance of the weight of the bread with the statement it has presented to buyers.
During the inspection, the Market Inspectorate imposed two fines for flags of origin, which were not put on the products.
Such inspections are taking place in the wake of the work of the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade for consumer protection and to create market security.
Consumer protection remains a priority of the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, to ensure that citizens receive as much as they pay.
