The Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade (MIET), namely the Kosovo Investment and Enterprise Support Agency (KIESA), held today the ceremony of signing agreements for subsidizing 35 enterprises for the purchase of manufacturing/processing machinery.
This scheme serving the implementation of the industrial policy is offered for the priority sectors identified during the industrial performance analysis and industrial development value chain studies.
Minister Hajdari said at the event that support to local businesses is one of the priorities of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, highlighting the support hereto of 322 companies through grants worth EUR 11.86 million in the areas of manufacturing machinery upgrading, product certification, digital empowerment and business development training, where 40% of grant beneficiaries are women.
In addition, Minister Hajdari stated that support of EUR 12.4 million was given to 395 enterprises selected by the MFLT for measure 2.1, through loan subsidies of 5% and 15% of the amount, pledging that the support for businesses will be continuous.
These subsidies, which were given to micro, small and medium enterprises, are aimed at increasing and improving manufacturing capacities, increasing competitiveness and export, reducing the trade deficit and opening new jobs.
