The Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation (MIETI) announces that a decision has been taken to impose a temporary anti-dumping duty on wheat seed imports originating in the Republic of Serbia.
With this decision, an additional duty of EUR 0.04 per kilogram is imposed on the import of wheat seed for planting.
The decision was taken following an investigation conducted by the Ministry, during which data on import prices, import volume, the state of local produce and the impact of imports on the Kosovo market were reviewed. From the data collected up to this stage, it has been concluded that there is sufficient preliminary evidence of imports at dumping prices and of the damage that these imports cause to local producers.
The measure is temporary in nature and aims to create fair conditions of competition and prevent further damage to local produce while the investigation continues.
The obligation will be implemented by Kosovo Customs on imports of wheat seed originating in Serbia, in accordance with the decision and applicable legislation. The measure will be applied for a period of six (6) months, unless amended, suspended or repealed earlier in accordance with the law.
The anti-dumping investigation continues, while after its conclusion, a final assessment will be made and further measures will be decided in accordance with the results of the investigation.
The Ministry remains committed to protecting fair competition, domestic produce and the orderly functioning of the market, acting in accordance with applicable legislation and the international obligations of the Republic of Kosovo.
