MIETI marked World Accreditation Day, emphasizing the importance of quality infrastructure for economic development

The Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation marked World Accreditation Day today, with the participation of institutional representatives, local and international partners, as well as stakeholders in the quality sector.

On this occasion, the Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, together with Boguslaw Gertruda, Head of the Sector for Political, Economic and Integration Affairs at the European Union Office in Kosovo, the Director of the Kosovo Accreditation Directorate, Irfan Lipovica, and other partners, reiterated the importance of building a strong quality infrastructure, based on European standards and best practices.

During the activity, it was emphasized that accreditation, standardization, metrology and market surveillance constitute the main pillars that guarantee quality, safety and reliability in the country’s products, services and institutions.

Minister Kusari-Lila assessed that the establishment and strengthening of quality infrastructure is of particular importance for the economic development of Kosovo and is directly related to the objectives of increasing exports, strengthening the competitiveness of local businesses and reducing import dependence.
According to her, increasing the reliability of local products and services creates greater opportunities for access to new markets, expands commercial activity and contributes to improving the well-being of citizens.

MIETI remains committed to strengthening institutional capacities in the field of accreditation, standardization and metrology, aligning legislation with that of the European Union, and advancing reforms that increase efficiency, transparency and support for the private sector.
