The Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, together with the Ambassador of Switzerland to Kosovo, Jürg Sprecher, have signed the five-year agreement for the implementation of the project “Green Transformation of Private Enterprises in Kosovo (GPEK)”.
The agreement was concluded between the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), with co-financing from the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA), and will be implemented during the period 2026–2031.
Through this project, with a total value of 8.78 million Swiss francs, it aims to support the green transition of the private sector in Kosovo, with a focus on increasing the competitiveness and climate sustainability of small and medium-sized enterprises.
The project will contribute to the promotion of cleaner technologies, increasing resource efficiency, adopting sustainable business practices, and creating new opportunities for economic development.
Minister Kusari-Lila emphasized that the green transformation of industry and the economy is one of the ministry’s strategic priorities, adding that investments in innovation, sustainable technology and private sector development are essential for the country’s long-term economic growth.
According to her, the project will help strengthen local enterprises, promote green investments, create new jobs and increase the inclusion of underrepresented categories in economic development.
On this occasion, the minister thanked the Swiss Government, SDC, SIDA and other partners for their continued support to Kosovo and their confidence in the country’s development and economic potential.
