Minister Bajrami delivered a lecture on the topic “Business Environment and MTI’s contribution in improving it” at College “ILIRIA”

Minister Bajrami explained some of the commitments of the Ministry of Trade and Industry and its role in the process of coordinating inter-institutional reforms related to improvement of the business environment in our country.  

Minister Bajrami said that a lot of work has been done, and the work was conducted with seriousness and high dynamics at the National Council for Economic Development, which is led by the Prime Minister and where MTI is a coordinator. In this council are involved all relevant institutional stakeholders and those from the business community, who, through open discussions, have managed to address all the major barriers that Kosovo businesses have been facing for years now, said Mrs. Bajrami.

She added that a lot of work has been done in cooperation with businesses regarding the legislation, resulting in a number of laws being drafted as a result of requests from the business community itself. Also, Mrs. Bajrami said that a lot of work has been done in eliminating the bureaucracy, which has an impact on reducing corruption, thus increasing the efficiency of institutional services to businesses.

Minister Bajrami stressed that continuous work has been conducted in supporting local businesses and foreign investors. In this regard, she stressed that several economic forums were organized abroad and were held 17 international fairs, and in those fairs participated around 170 Kosovo enterprises, where 33 contracts were signed at these fairs.

Mrs. Bajrami also underlined that work is also conducted in developing Business Parks and Incubators and 8 Economic Zones throughout Kosovo were licensed.

Minister Bajrami said that the Government's commitment on improving the business environment has been confirmed by many international rankings as well as by various organizations such as the World Bank, Heritage Foundation, OECD, etc.

Mrs. Bajrami encouraged students to be prepared as much as possible during their studies in order to bring energy, new approaches and positive changes to the private sector, to increase the number of enterprises and make a difference in the labour market.
