Today, the Minister of Trade and Industry Hykmete Bajrami, hosted at the meeting Ms. Jane Amilhat, Deputy Head of Unite at the Directorate General of Trade within the European Commission, who was accompanied by DG NEAR Economic Policy Officials and representatives of EU Office in Pristina.
Minister Bajrami informed Ms. Amilhat about the Ministry of Trade and Industry activities related in doing business environment improvement and on implementation of the Stabilization and Association Agreement.
Further, Minister Bajrami mentioned some of the activities taken by the Government of Republic of Kosovo on preparing and strengthening Kosovo’s enterprises to access EU market, including: organization and holding conferences with businesses objective of which was to inform Kosovar enterprises with the benefits and SAA requirements; providing support to a large number of enterprises in participating in various local and international fairs and promote their products; implementation of other project that facilitate Kosovar entrepreneurs to certify their products with quality standards certificate; as well as the implementation of Credit Guarantee Fund that makes easier the access to finance.
On the other hand, Mrs. Amilhat stated that the European Commission is willing to continue close cooperation with the Ministry of Trade and Industry in its path to successfully implement the SAA, and further strengthening of Kosovo's enterprises. She offered the European Commission readiness in working closely with the MTI in many projects that aim to strengthen the Kosovar enterprises to access EU market.
