The Minister of Trade and Industry, Hykmete Bajrami, took part at the presentation of “Bottleneck” study results, organized by Kosovo Chamber of Commerce. Aim of this annual study is to identify business barriers in Kosovo.
Present at the discussion panel were: minister of Finance Avdullah Hoti, President of Kosovo Chamber of Commerce Safet Gërxhaliu, Director of Kosovo Tax Administration Sakip Imeri, Director of Kosovo Customs Bahri Berisha, representative of Kosovo Statistic Agency Ilir Berisha, as well as representatives of business and foreign embassies in Kosovo.
In her speech, Minister Bajrami thanked the Kosovo Chamber of Commerce for this study and dialogue made with the businesses to identify barriers. She said that this study will serve the Government of the Republic of Kosovo in the process of economic policymaking.
Further, Mrs. Bajrami added that under the government program we have significantly improved business environment, for what we have considered business’s demands, whether they were of administrative or other aspects.
Minister Bajrami said that quite enough is being done in many areas: by developing economic zones, addressing the energy high cost, since the additional energy costs to business due to often power cuts and reconnections cost continue to remain primary obstacles for businesses in Kosovo.
A great contribution of business community in eliminating business barriers can be given through continues cooperation of institutions and businesses itself, aim of which is to improve business environment in Kosovo, she said.
