Minister of Trade and Industry, Endrit Shala, met today with the director of the “Meka” company in Dragash, Burim Piraj, with whom they discussed the support of local products, in order to be certified and become competitive by exporting them abroad.
On this occasion he emphasized that this company treats workers extremely well by giving them the 13th and 14th salary, while calling for other local producers to follow this example.
"Today I had the pleasure to visit a company that deals with the production of meat products.
A company that meets all the European Union standards in the area of its production. At the same time, I would like to transmit my willingness as a minister as well as the willingness of the Kosovo government, to the owner of the company, also our focus on the assistance for companies that with the growth of their production will help economic development, "said Minister Shala.
Minister Shala has also shared gratitude for this company due to its impact on the growth of employment and economic development of the country. "At the same time I informed Mr. Piraj for the opportunities offered by MTI to help them certify the products so that our products meet the standards required in the EU and to make it easier for them to export these products in foreign countries, "Shala said.
Whereas, the director of "Meka" company, Burim Piraj, said that,"Meka" company has increased since placing taxes on Serbian goods, which has also affected the increase in the number of employees. "Thank you for your visit, we have seen concrete steps and thank you for the steps you have taken in placing the flags near the products so that the customer is aware of the product quality. I congratulate you on placing taxes though it is political, but it has had a significant impact on the growth of companies. From the moment the tax was applied we have hired new employees as we have higher opportunity in the market. I thank you once again for the support of local products, "said Piraj. Ministry of Trade and Industry and Minister Endrit Shala will continue supporting local businesses to increase the products and quality of local products, which has an impact on the creation of new jobs and on the development of country’s economy.
