Minister Hajdari held a virtual meeting with UNDP representatives in Kosovo.

The Minister of Economy, Employment, Trade, Industry, Entrepreneurship and Strategic Investments (MEETIESI), Mrs. Rozeta Hajdari held a virtual meeting with the UNDP Resident Representative for Kosovo Mrs. Maria Suokko, Resident Coordinator of the United Nations in Kosovo Mrs. Ulrika Richardson (UNKT), UNDP Assistant Resident Representative in Kosovo Mrs. Valbona Bogujevci, and the Officer for Development, Partnership and Development Finance Mr. Bashkim Isufi regarding the discussion of issues for economic and social recovery.

Minister Hajdari has informed about the government working group regarding the preparation of economic recovery, adding that social welfare issues should also be part of financial support, respectively assistance to citizens who are most affected as a result of pandemics, which do not have income for their families and live in difficult economic conditions.

UNDP has expressed its continued support for Minister Hajdari and stated that they are ready to help develop a plan as effective as possible for the social welfare of the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo.

Being grateful, Minister Hajdari proposed that these joint efforts with UNDP be coordinated with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Finance and Transfers.

UN and UNDP representatives informed that they have prepared a draft plan and will soon share it with the Minister, while Minister Hajdari announced that a round table is planned for May 2020 with all active donors in Kosovo to explore their opportunities for support in the socio-economic program based on the so far analysis conducted by international and local partners.

UNDP Kosovo congratulated the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and all the authorities on how they managed the situation with Covid-19, saying that they systematically and strategically thought for the good of the citizens.

Minister Hajdari thanked the representatives of UNDP, expressing gratitude for the close cooperation and for the readiness and support that UNDP has expressed for the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo at this time of pandemic.
