The Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Mrs. Rozeta Hajdari, hosted representatives from the Kosovo Wine Association “Enology” Mr. Ruzhdi Haxhijaha, the head of this association and owner of the “Bodrumi i Vjetër” winery, accompanied by Mr. Aziz Tafa, the owner of the “AgroKosova Holding” winery and Mr. Ismet Haxhimurati, the owner of the “Biopak sh.p.k” winery.
During the meeting, they discussed various issues aimed at supporting the promotion of Kosovo wine products at international fairs, protecting local wine products, and registering the geographical indication of the country of origin.
The representatives of the Kosovo Wine Association "Enology" greatly appreciated the commitment and support from the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade. They specifically acknowledged the direct financial support provided through grants for SMEs, as well as the facilitation of winemakers’ participation in international fairs. According to them, these efforts have led to significant success in increasing exports and finding new markets, particularly in the United States of America, in addition to European markets.
On the other hand, Minister Hajdari offered full support for the promotion and protection of wine products, describing them as a value, tradition and local culture of the state of Kosovo.
The parties have also agreed to continue supporting the products of local winemakers and to organize an inauguration event for the geographical indication "Wines of Rahovec" recently registered by the Industrial Property Agency (IPA) within MIET. This event will be co-organized with the "Enology" Association in June of this year.
