Today in Ankara, the Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade was welcomed by her Turkish counterpart, the Minister of Trade Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat, and they discussed the current implementation of the Free Trade Agreement with Turkey, which has been in force since 2019.
With the aim of improving the trade balance and increasing trade exchanges, Minister Hajdari reached an agreement with Minister Bolat, for the review of the Free Trade Agreement between Kosovo and Turkey, as well as for the launch of the Negotiations for Trade in Services, according to the principles of the General Agreement on Trade in Services of the World Trade Organization (WTO/ GATS).
During the meeting, Minister Hajdari and Minister Bolat signed the Joint Declaration on the Establishment of the Joint Economic and Trade Commission (JETCO), which will create a platform for regular consultations, and enable finding new and modern ways to improve the economic and commercial cooperation between Kosovo and Turkey.
