Minister Hajdari hosted the ambassador Kosnett, they speak about economic development

The Kosovar Minister of Economy, Employment, Trade, Industry, Entrepreneurship and Strategic Investments, Rozeta Hajdari, has received the Ambassador of the United States, Mr. Philip Kosnett, for a meeting on economic cooperation and U.S. support for Kosova.

Minister Hajdari informed H.E Ambassador Kosnett, about the Ministry’s priorities to improve good performance of public owned enterprises, and support SME’s which are great potential for increased jobs and private sector competitiveness. The minister emphasized about eliminating barriers for doing business, removing obstacles for investments, while addressing review of existing laws and procedures based on evidence, and ensuring sustainable and price affordable energy supply for all. Among talking points, Minister addressed the need for increased employability for youth through review of employment policies and improving effectiveness of active labour market measures, as well as support to entrepreneurship and innovation; while expressing her gratitude for America’s continued support which is critical to the Ministry’s mission.

H.E Ambassador Kosnett congratulated Minister Hajdari on her new position, recognizing her role in making Kosovo an inclusive and prosperous country. His Excellency emphasized investments, private sector, entrepreneurship, youth, and the tech industry as areas of great opportunity. The Ambassador further recalled the U.S. plan to gradually replace aid with investment and trade, while encouraging steps towards free trade and sustainable solutions to energy issues.

The Ambassador reiterated the U.S. commitment to support the Ministry in its scope of competence and as the most important Ministry for Kosovo’s development and integration.
