In coordination with the Kosovo Chamber of Commerce, yesterday was held a joint meeting with representatives of businesses in concrete and construction sector. This meeting was attended by the Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Rozeta Hajdari, the President of the Kosovo Competition Authority, Neime Binaku-Isufi, as well as other representatives from central and local institutions.
Minister Hajdari said that Kurti Government is committed to provide support to the private sector in the Republic of Kosovo through various policies and measures. She emphasized that by drafting policies and harmonizing laws, specifically through the law for the protection of competition, businesses will exercise their activities in fair and equal competition.
In this context, Minister Hajdari emphasized that Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, in close coordination with Kosovo Competition Authority and other relevant institutions, are treating with priority the evidence of price increases in the market and will take action in the following days, to protect the consumer and stabilize prices in the local market.
The purpose of this meeting was a more detailed discussion with construction sector businesses about the difficulties they are facing as a result of the constant increase in the price of cement, as well as inter-institutional addressing for the provision of more effective and acceptable alternatives to overcome difficulties.
Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade aims to protect consumers and support businesses, specifically it aims to improve environment for doing business and develop competitiveness. It enables economic development and increase national income through the development of industry, entrepreneurship, innovation, trade and tourism.
