The Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Rozeta Hajdari, participated in the event “Aligning the offer with labour market needs”, with the motto “Skilling, Employment, Development”, organized by Shehu Academy, in cooperation with the USAID project ‘Kosovo’ Compete Activity’.
This event was attended by representatives from public institutions of vocational education and training (VET), private vocational training centres, relevant educational and employment institutions of the Republic of Kosovo and local entrepreneurs, representatives of international cooperation for VET, in order to increase better coordination and cooperation with private VET institutions and the creation of a better quality education system.
In her speech, Minister Hajdari emphasized the central role of education and professional training for economic development and the growth of quality employment in our country. By announcing the lack of engineers of various profiles and sub-profiles needed for our industry, she said that all those who will make up the economy of tomorrow, are those who receive today from educational and training institutions, and that education and training that will be provided to them will be reflected in our economy.
Minister Hajdari added that, for a proper and competent training, while it is necessary to engage teachers and other members of education for their valuable contribution, apart from the current actions of the Government with policies, legislations and established mechanisms for improving education and professional training, the pro-activity from the business community that has a very important role in achieving the goal of training, employment and development, is most needed.
"With our industrial policy, we aim to transform the country's industry into a more globally integrated industry that is able to produce products with high added value and provide decent employment, which we will achieve by deepening in the supply chains of internal value, increasing and diversifying export products, improving the qualification of the labour force, an accelerated digitization of production and advanced technology for green production, as well as a better use of local natural resources and recycled materials. Thus, in achieving this goal, the business community has a special role in improving the qualification of the labour force and decent employment, for the production of local products with high added value," emphasized Minister Hajdari.
In the Minister's speech was also mentioned the connection with Diaspora, as well as the attraction of investments in the manufacturing industry, while studies have highlighted the central role of the manufacturing sector for economic growth and development in our country.
At the end of the speeches, Minister Hajdari, along with Shehu Academy representatives and USAID Kosovo Compete Activity project, distributed certificates to trainees from different industrial sectors.
