The Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Rozeta Hajdari, together with representatives of institutions and businesses, discussed the development of economic capacity and support of small and medium-sized businesses in Kosovo, at a conference organized by MIET in cooperation with the EU project for Technical Assistance “Support to Kosovo with EU programs”.
Minister Hajdari said that the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, specifically the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, in November 2021, has started negotiations for membership in the Single Market Program and with this progress Kosovar companies now have the opportunity to benefit from open announcements that stimulate the development of the private sector in Kosovo.
“Single Market Program is a continuation of the previous COSME program, which provides support opportunities for institutions, small and medium enterprises and business organizations in Kosovo. “Facilitating access to funds aims to support the competitiveness of SMEs, provides them with access to finance, regional and international markets, consumer protection including food security, improves statistics and improves financial sector.” stressed Minister Hajdari.
In this context, Minister Hajdari reiterated that MIET is constantly working to make Kosovo an ideal place to do business and that its main focus is on developing the potential of local production, ensuring fair and equal competition in the market.
In a discussion with the participants during the workshop for technical assistance of European Union programs, Minister Hajdari stated: “Our goal is to encourage as many companies as possible and prepare them to apply and benefit from the program in question, to create a favourable environment for competitiveness and to increase exports, for more new jobs and more national income in the interest of increasing the well-being of all our citizens.”
