Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Ms. Rozeta Hajdari, together with the senior advisor, Mrs. Leman Hatashi, yesterday received the Ambassador of Italy, Mr. Nicola Orlando, accompanied by Ms. Antonella Tomasin, Chief of Economic Department.
The Italian Ambassador Orlando thanked Minister Hajdari and congratulated her for the new mandate and expressed his readiness to continue the cooperation with Minister Hajdari, with special emphasis on the industry sector and the cooperation of Italian companies with Kosovar companies. As a good practice it has been also mentioned the cooperation for almot almost 20 years with the Gacaferri company in Peja.
Minister Rozeta Hajdari briefed the Ambassador on the ministry's priorities, underlining the development of industry policies, the investments and exports promotion, the improvement of the country's trade balance, the challenges facing the private sector and the need to support start-ups, small and large businesses. amending and supplementing laws covering industry, entrepreneurship, innovation, and trade issues.
The Ambassador also expressed interest to cooperate in strategic investments, where key supplementation would be entrepreneurship and innovation, focusing on digitization of SMEs.
To increase the cooperation between Kosovo and Italy also the cooperation and use of the youth potential in Kosovo, the Ambassador of Italy in Kosovo informed Minister Hajdari about the launch of a hybrid seminar of Italian and Kosovar companies and the B2B event organized by members of the Network "Enterprise Europe Network / EEN", supported by the Kosovo-Italian Trade Agency. This seminar will focus on digitalization and communication for start-ups. The event will take place in June 2021, so the ambassador invited Minister Hajdari to be part of this virtual event as a representative, speaker from Kosovo.
Both parties agreed to continue with more frequent meetings and concretization of future projects as well as concrete cooperation for the development of industry and entrepreneurship.
