Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Mrs. Rozeta Hajdari, on January 18, 2022, received the Ambassador of Slovenia in Kosovo, Mrs. Minca Benedejčič.
Minister Rozeta Hajdari informed the ambassador about the priorities of the ministry, underlining the development of industry policies, promotion of investments as well as exports, improvement of the country's trade balance, challenges faced by the private sector and the need for supporting start-ups, small and medium-sized businesses, amending and supplementing laws covering issues of industry, investment, economic zones, entrepreneurship, innovation, tourism and trade.
Ambassador Benedejčič thanked Minister Hajdari for the hospitality and expressed her readiness for support and investment from Slovenia in Kosovo, emphasizing the previous meeting of 40 Slovenian and Kosovar companies, some of which have potential for investment in Kosovo.
In this context, Minister Hajdari, presented the competitive advantages that Kosovo has as an investment destination for foreign businessmen, which include: Euro official currency, legislation in line with EU legislation, simple and favorable tax system, stable banking system, young population as a well-educated workforce and many spoken languages, geographical location with developed road infrastructure, digital and close access to seaports, as well as factors that are very important in guaranteeing the success of an investor.
Minister Hajdari and Ambassador Benedejčič praised the good relations between the two countries and confirmed the readiness to deepen and expand economic cooperation through the establishment of a joint economic committee, with co-chairing and good cooperation by exchanging experiences between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Slovenia in various economic sectors.
