Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Ms. Rozeta Hajdari, together with the Deputy Minister Getoar Mjeku and the senior advisor Leman Hatashi, received yesterday the Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation in Kosovo, Mr. Thomas Kolly, accompanied by the Deputy Ambassador, Mrs. Pauline Menthonnex Gacaferri, Regional Advisor, Ms. Kathrin Ochsenbein, and the attaché, Mrs. Gil Bösch.
Minister Rozeta Hajdari informed the Swiss Ambassador on the priorities of the ministry, underlining the increase of competitiveness in industry, the improvement of the country's trade balance, as well as the attraction of investments and the involvement of the diaspora in the economic development of the country. Minister Hajdari expressed the commitment to regional cooperation within a framework where the Republic of Kosovo is treated equally with the countries of the European region.
Ambassador Kolly recalled the importance of bilateral relations, with an emphasis on investment and the diaspora. Switzerland is one of the countries with the most investments in the Republic of Kosovo, while the Kosovar diaspora in Switzerland is a cultural and economic bridge between the two countries. Ambassador Kolly and Deputy Ambassador Menthonnex Gacaferri spoke in particular about the profiles of Swiss companies that aim to develop their activity in Kosovo and create new jobs.
Minister Hajdari thanked Ambassador Kolly for the continuous support that Switzerland has provided for the development of Kosovo.
Both appreciated the good relations between the two countries and confirmed the readiness to deepen and expand the cooperation.
