The Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade (MIET) has organized a meeting with start-up businesses, on Monday (November 15th, 2021), as the closing day of the “Global Entrepreneurship Week in Kosovo”.
In the closing ceremony, the Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade (MIET), Rozeta Hajdari, said that the field of entrepreneurship and innovation are areas with great potential for economic development of the country.
"Today I am here to show that we do not have just one 'Global Entrepreneurship' week, but as the Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade we are waiting for many weeks ahead with many commitments and work, to build the system for Innovation and Entrepreneurship." she said.
Minister Hajdari said that the government is focused on the development of these areas with great potential. "Kosovo has a lot to offer in terms of innovation and entrepreneurship, as 70 percent of the population are young with a lot of positivity, energy and creativity in entrepreneurship.
Minister Rozeta Hajdari has shown how ministries have initiated the creation of an inter-ministerial group for drafting policy for innovation and entrepreneurship. "So far we have not had a Law on Innovation and Entrepreneurship, nor a national policy, nor a Fund for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. I would like to inform you that we have created a ministerial group for drafting the Law on Innovation and Entrepreneurship. An inter-ministerial group has also been set up, together with partners from the private sector, universities and relevant ministries, on national innovation and entrepreneurship policy. We will also work in the coming years to create a Fund for Innovation and Entrepreneurship ", she emphasized.
Also, Minister Hajdari has held a discussion with some businesses on the problems they face in the field of innovation, entrepreneurship and information technology.
She has promised that their complaints will be handled, by eliminating various barriers, and will facilitate access to the support provided by the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade and the Government of Kosovo.
Meanwhile, the director of the Entrepreneurship Department, Mentor Sylmeta and the director of the Innovation Department, Laura Zherka, have presented the objectives of these two departments for the development of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship sector.
