The Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Rozeta Hajdari, together with the Deputy Minister Getoar Mjeku and the Senior Advisor Leman Hatashi, welcomed in the meeting the Deputy Ambassador of the United Kingdom in Kosovo, Jacob Webber, and the Director of the Department of International Trade at the Embassy of the United Kingdom in Skopje, Nikola Stojanoski, with whom they talked about the continuation of good relations between the two countries.
Minister Hajdari, after thanking the representatives of the Embassy of the United Kingdom for their continued support to the Republic of Kosovo, made a brief presentation on the situation in the sectors covered by the Ministry, challenges, potentials and priorities of this ministry: Development of industry, trade , implementation of the obligations arising from the Stabilization and Association Agreement, entrepreneurship development, support of SMEs, development of innovation in industry, use of youth as potential for development (EU Industrial strategy) and foreign investments.
Deputy Ambassador Webber congratulated the Minister on her new assignment and expressed Britain's readiness to continue cooperation and support for Kosovo in important processes. He was interested in the development priorities of the new government and in building a lasting partnership between the two friendly countries. Mr Webber recalled Britain’s focus on state – building, empowering meritocracy and good governance.
Further, Mr. Webber expressed his interest in the opportunities and conditions that Kosovo offers to foreign investors. He stressed that we will encourage British companies to look at opportunities to invest in Kosovo, by organizing meetings between businesses to establish business cooperation of mutual interest.
Minister Hajdari thanked the British Deputy Ambassador for the continued support of Great Britain for Kosovo.
At the end of the meeting, the two interlocutors praised the good bilateral relations that exist between the two countries, expressing their commitment to further deepen them.
