Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Mrs. Rozeta Hajdari, on December 6 and 7, 2021, paid an official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), within the World Exhibition “Expo 2020 Dubai” with the theme of this exhibition “Connecting Minds and Creating the Future”.
During her stay in the United Arab Emirates, Minister Hajdari participated in the forum: "Opportunities for Doing Business in Kosovo", organized in the framework of promotional activities by the Republic of Kosovo in "Expo 2020 Dubai", during the period 1 October 2021 – 31 March 2022. Minister Hajdari in her speech before the representatives of the institutions of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), numerous representatives of the countries participating in Expo 2020 and the business community, thanking those present for the expressed interest, stressed that the strategic location, economic, natural and human potentials, stable governance with the principles of responsibility, transparency and accountability, make the Republic of Kosovo an attractive and very favorable place for foreign investors, especially now after the COVID 19 crisis, where many businesses are reorganizing for reduction of operating costs, transportation and diversification of supplies.
In this context, Minister Hajdari with her colleagues from MIET and MFAD, have presented a number of competitive advantages that Kosovo has, which country can be chosen by foreign businessmen as an investment destination, including as: Official currency Euro, legislation in compliance with EU legislation, simple and favorable tax system, stable banking system, young population as a well-educated and multi-lingual workforce, geographical location with developed road infrastructure, digital and close access to seaports, factors that are very important in guaranteeing the success of an investor.
It is also worth noting that the main part of Minister Hajdari's agenda has been reserved for industrial associations and representatives of various businesses from Kosovo, who during these two days, were present at "Expo 2020 Dubai", by participating in the Global Business Forum, B2B meetings and visits to the pavilions of many countries participating in Expo 2020, where the Kosovar business community has closely found opportunities for cooperation and contact with representatives of various institutions and companies, in areas of mutual interest .
In the bilateral meeting with the UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi, Minister Hajdari thanked Minister Dr. Al Zeyoudi for the support that the UAE has given to the Republic of Kosovo, for the opportunity to participate in the World Exhibition "Expo 2020 Dubai", organized and hosted by the UAE and led by the International Exhibition Office (BIE) based in Paris.
Minister Hajdari assessed that participation and such meetings at world levels are a good opportunity to review the most appropriate modalities and alternatives which will have a direct impact on economic relations, respectively investments and trade exchanges between Kosovo and the UAE and many other countries from the world. In this line, Minister Hajdari stressed that Kosovo is open for investments from the United Arab Emirates, seeing this in the service of cooperation in industrial sectors with priority such as: energy, tourism, manufacturing, and other sectors of common interest.
Minister Hajdari invited his counterpart Dr. Al Zeyoudi and businessmen to pay a visit to the Republic of Kosovo, where they will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the suitable climate for doing business and the excellent opportunities that Kosovo offers for foreign investments.
