The Minister of Trade and Industry, Bajram Hasani, hosted in a meeting the new director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Neil Taylor and his counterparts.
At the meeting were discussed the EBRD’s activities in Kosovo and cooperation possibilities with the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
Mr. Taylor thanked Minister Hasani for the reception and confirmed that the Ministry of Trade and Industry is one of the main partners of this institution in Kosovo.
Last year, EBRD has invested around 81 million euros in various projects in Kosovo, with a particular focus on private sector development.
The EBRD has confirmed that it will continue to support the MTI activities specified through the memorandum of cooperation and one of the main projects is to enlarge the existing Industrial Park in Drenas.
Minister Hasani welcomed the readiness to support and continue the implementation of projects.
Also, the EBRD has offered its support through technical assistance for operation of the National Council for Economic Development, which is an important platform for public-private dialogue between the government and representatives of private sector organizations.
