Minister of Trade and Industry, Bajram Hasni, participated in the meeting for finalization of the programming document for the implementation of the “South East Europe 2020 Strategy”, which was realized through a process of providing collected data from different sources through year’s structured cycles, and that with the participation of a wide range of partners. This document presents the modernized and materialized Multi-annual Action Plan with the tenacity to integrate into the regional economic integration.
On this occasion, Minister Hasani stressed that the Regional Cooperation Council and the “South East Europe Strategy 2020 ", in particular, are a capital element towards improving the political and economic cooperation in our region.
Kosovo has proven to be a good neighbor, and who cares to build friendly relations and excellent cooperation with its neighbors. This is proven not only by bilateral exchanges, but also by active participation in regional mechanisms such as the Regional Cooperation Council, the Energy Community Treaty, CEFTA, and other mechanisms, "said Minister Hasani.
He further said that on behalf of the Government of Kosovo is expressed serious commitment to implement this strategy, being aware that its complete and successful implementation will bring new jobs, prosperity and economic development to Kosovo. Likewise, Hasan confirmed that Kosovo has the readiness to engage the capacity of its administration, institutional support and the necessary financial resources for its successful implementation.
Mr. Hasan also presented the areas related to this strategy, which are also within the program of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and the Economic Reform Program 2018-2020, referring to the South East Europe Strategy, such as: integrated growth, development of trade policy and competitiveness, support for small and medium-sized enterprises, promotion of foreign investment, smart and sustainable growth, inclusive growth and governance for development.
"Accurate and reliable data will be those that will show in a transparent way that implementation is sustainable and where is the need further support," said Minister Hasani.
He added that the data collection system, the data analysis system and the data analysis culture will be strengthened in time and will be in place to include them into our decision-making processes.
"Therefore we salute development and functionalization of electronic data collection software," Hasani stressed.
Meanwhile, regarding the monitoring structure, at the political level, Minister Hasani reaffirmed that the National Council for Economic Development will continue to be the main body to address the issues arising from the strategy, while at the technical level will be the existing structures that monitor the implementation of European agenda, which will also monitor the implementation of the strategy.
Hasani invited relevant mechanisms for closer cooperation to ensure the full and successful implementation of strategic priorities and those of the South East Europe 2020 Strategy.
