The Minister of Trade and Industry, Vesel Krasniqi, received today the German Ambassador to Kosovo, Jörn Rohde, with whom they talked about economic development, import of German products, investments and the diaspora.
The Minister has highly appreciated the support of the German state provided to Kosovo in various periods of time from the most difficult times until today for the economic development of the country.
"A special thanks to the German state for the treatment provided to the citizens of Kosovo, who live and work in Germany", said the minister.
The Minister informed the ambassador that Germany is among the first three countries where Kosovo imports goods from there.
Regarding the need for more investors from Germany, the minister has explained the law on strategic investments as well as the law`s supplementation and amendments that are expected to be finalized.
"With the amendments that will take place in the law on strategic investments, Kosovo will be the country with more favourable conditions for every investor", stated Minister Krasniqi.
The Ambassador of Germany in Kosovo, Joern Rohde, in the discussions in the field of economy said that he would be more satisfied if the export of products from Kosovo to Germany is greater.
Regarding remittances from the Albanian diaspora, working in Germany, the ambassador said that it would be good for them to be turned into investments.
Speaking about the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Ambassador Rohde was interested in the Kosovo Government's package for the economic recovery. He further expressed his hope that the Government of Kosovo will find a compromise with the opposition, so that the Assembly can approve the draft law in the next session.
