The Minister of Trade and Industry, Vesel Krasniqi, received in a meeting the representatives of the Kosovo-Turkey Chamber of Commerce, chaired by Abdurrahman Balkiz, President of this chamber.
Initially, Minister Krasniqi thanked the guests for the commitment shown to further cooperate in the economic aspect between Kosovo and Turkey.
The Minister emphasized that this mutual cooperation between the two countries will also continue in the future, as well as to further deepen investment and cooperation opportunities between businesses of Kosovo and Turkey, which will also affect the economic overall development in both countries.
According to Minister Krasniqi, this cooperation will be even more fruitful if we manage to eliminate barriers during trade exchanges between the two countries, as we have free trade agreement between Kosovo and Turkey signed, which supports the trade exchanges between the two states.
Meanwhile, the President of the Kosovo-Turkey Chamber of Commerce, Abdurrahman Balkiz, initially congratulated the ministry on the position of Minister of Trade and Industry and then raised some issues that would help business from both sides.
He raised the issue of the possibility of Turkish investments in Kosovo, the possibility of preparing the product with a country of origin from Kosovo, as well as the possibilities of offering economic agreements between Kosovar and Turkish businessmen.
For this, Minister Krasniqi explained to the representatives of the Kosovo-Turkey Chamber of Commerce that Kosovo is already a good potential in treating the strategic investors, where the issue of strategic investors is regulated by the Law on Strategic Investments, which provides facilities and investment opportunities for potential strategic investors.
The Minister mentioned the economic zones as another opportunity in the field of investments in Kosovo, which are of economic interest and that soon these zones will be the ones where investment opportunities will be concentrated by smaller investors too. He also emphasised that soon will be treated some issues in terms of legal supplements.
As a final point, Minister Krasniqi called on all potential investors in Turkey to come and see the investment opportunities that Kosovo offers to investors in general.
