The Minister of Trade and Industry, Vesel Krasniqi, together with the Association of Kosovo Municipalities held a meeting with municipal inspectorates to coordinate inspection activities at central and local level for preventing the spread of Covd 19 pandemics.
Minister Krasniqi required from all actors to respect the manual`s instructions of the National Institute of Public Health of Kosovo (NIPHK) at every level and possibly to be done in coordination with the Kosovo Police.
Further, Minister Krasniqi said: “We as the Ministry, weeks ago, have issued an order for gastronomy, where the attendance of citizens is greater, which is not being implemented according to the recommendations of NIPHK and institutional orders. Therefore, in order not to come to the closure of gastronomy service premises, cooperation and mutual understanding are important ", stressed Minister Krasniqi.
He required from the municipal mechanisms to respect the orders, instructions and recommendations of the institutions for the prevention of COVI-19 Pandemic, because in most municipalities these orders and instructions have not been presented to gastronomes and that we are ready to support local institutions for delivering these instructions and sending the information to the businesses. Therefore, according to the Minister, in order not to have the closure of bars and restaurants, cooperation is required.
Minister Krasniqi stressed that it would be necessary to establish a task force for being 24 hours in the service and safety of citizens. He estimated that the number of inspectors is small compared to the situation created by Covid-19, noting that this issue has already been included in the Government's program.
The Minister also called for overtime work during these days. "Let's mobilize and make sure that these instructions are strictly implemented in order to prevent the spread and incensement of the number of people affected by the Covid-19 virus, when it is already known that we will have the arrival of compatriots on vacation in Kosovo, where chances are even larger for infections in frequented premises", said Minister Krasniqi.
"We will be in support of businesses and citizens in general, coordinating with all inspection and supervisory mechanisms to prevent the spread of Covid 19 infection," said Minister Krasniqi.
Whereas, Sazan Ibrahimi, from the Association of Kosovo Municipalities, emphasized that the government together with the municipalities have drafted the manual in the fight against the virus and that they have implemented all ordinances of the central level, by getting coordinated with the central level for coordinating the activities with local level in terms of inspection.
