Minister Kusari-Lila: Abuses of prices and quality will not be tolerated

According to published data, during the period 01–27 March 2026, the Central Inspectorate of Market Surveillance carried out 624 inspections, of which 68 were re-inspections, intensifying controls on fuels, markets and product safety, especially on the eve of Eid.

Of these controls, 195 were carried out on fuels, 186 on product safety, 224 on the market and consumer protection, while 19 were carried out by the Commission for Minimum Technical Conditions.

The controls were accompanied by increased price surveillance and over 64 joint inspections with the Kosovo Tax Administration (TAK) and the Kosovo Competition Authority, as well as actions on the safety of toys and equipment at customs and the internal market.

According to the minister, the results are concrete: 129 complaints have been handled, 14 decisions for seizure have been issued, five cases have been sent to court, 56 fines have been imposed and 10 premises have been closed.

In addition, over 38 thousand toys have been stopped at entry and over 3,500 others have been seized in the market, while over 500 pieces of machinery have been removed from the market. 13 samples of motor oils are also in the process of quality verification.

Minister Kusari-Lila underlined that the message for economic operators is clear: price abuse, violation of product safety and consumer fraud will not be tolerated.
