Minister Kusari-Lila in Berlin, presents opportunities for investment and economic cooperation with Kosovo

The Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, participated in the first round of the “Diplomatic Circle” in Berlin, a new platform for exchange and networking between representatives of diplomacy and business, at the invitation of Prof. Atil Ural from Business Factors.

At this event, which was also attended by the German Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, Reem Alabali-Radovan, Ambassador of Kosovo to Germany, Faruk Ajeti, as well as diplomatic and business representatives, Minister Kusari-Lila presented Kosovo’s potential, investment opportunities and avenues for deepening economic cooperation with Germany and Europe. She emphasized that she was the first minister from outside Germany to be invited to this format.

With the German Federal Minister, Minister Kusari-Lila discussed expanding economic cooperation into new areas, as well as opportunities to create incentives for German companies seeking to invest in Southeast European countries and Kosovo.

The meeting in Berlin comes after a year of MIETI’s efforts to strengthen economic cooperation with Germany. In May, in Bensberg, under the patronage of Prime Minister Albin Kurti, the first “Future Industry Minds” Forum was held, with the participation of German and Kosovo companies. Meanwhile, MIETI has supported the participation of Kosovo businesses in the international trade fairs ITB Berlin, Light + Building in Frankfurt, ProWein in Düsseldorf and Hannover Messe, creating new contacts and opportunities for exports, investment and integration into European value chains.

Efforts to strengthen the partnership with Germany and German companies will continue in Prishtina as well. On 28–29 October, the conference on digital transformation and artificial intelligence, energy and sustainable infrastructure, as well as advanced manufacturing, will be held under the organization of the German-Kosovo Chamber of Commerce and with the support of the Government.

Germany remains an important economic partner for Kosovo, while the aim of the cooperation is to expand production in Kosovo, increase exports, attract German investment and involve more Kosovo companies in European markets and value chains.
