During the meeting, the need to raise production and service standards in the country was emphasized, as well as the responsibility that businesses have for consumer protection and ensuring safety in the workplace. It was assessed that a sustainable and competitive economy is built on high standards and mutual trust between institutions and the private sector. The parties discussed facilitating business registration procedures, increasing transparency and strengthening the role of women in the private sector. It was emphasized that gender equality and the formalization of the economy are key elements for long-term and sustainable development.
The focus of the conversation was also the Growth Plan and the concrete steps that are expected to be taken within the framework of the development agenda, including the advancement of the Law on Innovation. During the meeting, the issue of using international barcodes for Kosovo from 2026 was also addressed, a process for which the Kosovo Chamber of Commerce is engaged. The Minister thanked the Chamber for its commitment in this regard. Furthermore, discussions were held on the functioning of the association of women in business and the co-organization of economic forums with the active involvement of the diaspora and the embassies of the Republic of Kosovo. It was announced that in the coming weeks, joint consultations will commence on the draft laws of the legislative agenda, with an emphasis on full transparency and broad inclusion of relevant stakeholders.
