Minister Kusari-Lila met with the Swiss Minister of Finance, economic cooperation was discussed

The Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, during her stay at the St. Gallen Symposium in Switzerland, held a bilateral meeting with the Minister of Finance of the Swiss Confederation, Karin Keller-Sutter, where they discussed deepening economic and development cooperation between Kosovo and Switzerland.

Kusari-Lila emphasized that Kosovo is moving from a beneficiary of Swiss assistance to an economic and development partner, while the ratification of the Free Trade Agreement with EFTA countries is expected to increase trade exchanges and strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, the development of industrial infrastructure in Kosovo was also discussed, with a focus on industrial zones with environmental standards and the importance of partnerships with friendly countries for attracting investment and the economic development of the country.

Minister Kusari-Lila praised the role of the Kosovar diaspora in Switzerland and the engagement of Swiss companies, emphasizing that Switzerland remains one of the countries with which Kosovo has a positive trade balance.

She added that industrial and economic development is seen as an important element for the well-being of citizens and for strengthening the country’s economic security, through increasing domestic production and reducing import dependence.

For her part, the Minister of Finance of the Swiss Confederation, Karin Keller-Sutter, praised the cooperation between the two countries and the continuous contribution of the Kosovar diaspora in Switzerland.
