Minister Kusari-Lila receives delegation from Bangladesh, discusses expansion of economic cooperation

The Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, today hosted a delegation from Bangladesh, led by Ambassador Md. Nazrul Islam and Mr. S.M. Mahbubul Alam, accompanied by the Ambassador of Kosovo to Bangladesh, Lulzim Pllana.

This meeting discussed the economic relations between Kosovo and Bangladesh and concrete opportunities for expanding cooperation, with a special focus on the pharmaceutical industry, biotechnology and information technology.

An important part of the discussion was dedicated to creating new opportunities for business-to-business cooperation, including cooperation between the Kosovo Chamber of Commerce (KCC) and the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce (DCC), as well as the possibility for Bangladeshi companies to open production lines in Kosovo.

Minister Kusari-Lila emphasized that Kosovo offers a suitable environment for investments, due to its proximity to the EU market, fiscal policies, competitive workforce, and access to European markets through CEFTA and EFTA.

Moreover, this meeting also touched upon the launch of the process for a bilateral free trade agreement, which would create new opportunities for increasing trade and investment exchanges between Kosovo and Bangladesh.
